This classic cocktail, adapted from the 1946 edition of the Stork Club Bar Book, is a twist on the daiquiri made with gold or dark rum and honey. We like to use a full-flavored rum made from molasses for a dark, sweet, assertive flavor.

Ingredients

  • 14 oz. honey
  • 2 oz. gold or dark rum
  • 12 oz. fresh lime juice
  • Lime zest, for garnish

Instructions

Combine honey and 1 tsp. hot water in a cocktail shaker. Add rum, lime juice, and ice; shake vigorously and strain into a coupe glass. Garnish with lime zest.
