Menu: Dinner in Umbria
The Menu
More About This Menu
- Served at festivals, wineries, and charity bake sales, the snowflake cookies are a favorite of the residents of the Umbrian hill town of Montefalco. We recommend making them the same day so that the cornflakes retain their crunch.
- Wine grapes are foremost among Umbria's many treasures: grechetto; the luxurious white grape trebbiano spoletino; and Italy's ubiquitous sangiovese. Yet none of these is more potent or iconic than Montefalco's sagrantino—you'll find it in the majestic dry red of the same name, as well as the dessert wine Sangrantino passito and as the backbone of the blend called Montefalco rosso.
