Summer is lobster season on the coast of Maine, and the catch this year has been good. On a recent trip to Mount Desert Island, I was lucky enough to be invited to dinner by a friend who works part-time pulling traps. She steamed up a few soft-shells she'd caught earlier that day, and we spread out some newspaper on the table. The lobsters were sweet and tasted of the ocean, and for dessert there was blueberry pie.
