Postcard: Alaska’s Inside Passage
Not too long ago, I took an amazing trip to Alaska's Inside Passage, where I spent a blissfully disconnected week on a boat with no one but my family and the crew of the_Liseron. Aside from viewing the glories of the Tongass National Forest, a pod of Orca whales, and the blue, densely packed ice of the Dawes glacier, we managed to sample everything from Alaskan halibut and black cod to three different kinds of Pacific salmon. My cousin Easley managed to catch a pink, a type of salmon that's at its best when smoked. Thank goodness for the onboard smoker!_ —Sarah Bray
